Johanna won her Hunger Games through a simple strategy that relied heavily on her own acting ability. From the moment of her Reaping to her arrival in the Capitol, she pretended to be meek and forgettable, one of the many Tributes who end up as chaff for the thresher of the Games. This meant no one looked to her in the Arena itself, where she ran and hid until many of her fellow Tributes had killed one another. Description of Time (District 3 male tribute):

Time is seen to join the Careers on the second day until he ran away from them the next day and then helping Johanna Mason who gets trapped upon a trap. After it, he returns to the Careers' camp. He's skillful with knives and so clever that he could make original weapons of sticks, stones, & mud. He lived with the Careerists until the death of Terrea, where he's blamed even though Thalassa is the original killer, and he ran away for the second time. He slightly shows that he liked Johanna Mason by following her secretly until finally, he shows up on the last day, attacking The Careers who secretly going to stab Johanna's back, then sacrificing himself to be killed by Kyper (District 4 male).
