Taking place in an arcade called Game Station at Contemporary Resort, where video game characters live and congregate after hours, the film tells the story of a "bad guy" from a 8-bit game called Wreck-It Ralph, who embarks on a journey through multiple games to accomplish his dream of becoming a hero. Along the way, he encounters an anthropomorphic bunny named Judy Hopps from Zootopia who fights crime, the Fifth Spirit of the Enchanted Forest known as Elsa, a security program named Tron from the 1982 game, a personal healthcare robot named Baymax from San Fransokyo, and a super-dog named Bolt from his television series. In the midst of his adventures, Ralph, Fix-It Felix, and their friends team up as they encounter their old foes (including Bellwether, Dr. Calico, Turbo, Hans, Yokai and Sark) that wants to take over the arcade world.
