The film draws inspiration from the "Godwatch" storyline, featuring Veronica Kale in a prominent role. Desperate to save her daughter, Veronica strikes a dangerous deal with the goddess Circe. Diana becomes involved through her friendship with Barbara Minerva, an employee of Veronica's and a trusted ally since the Justice League events. When Diana interferes with the dark pact, Circe retaliates by transforming Barbara into the Cheetah, a fearsome human-animal hybrid, embodying Circe's twisted magic. While Circe emerges as the primary antagonist with a sinister plot to reshape reality, Cheetah, as a secondary villain, showcases her fierce abilities and complex motivations. As Diana battles Circe's malevolent forces, she must also confront her friend-turned-foe, setting the stage for Cheetah's eventual return as a key member of the Legion of Doom.
