The Amazons, created by the gods to protect mankind, live in secret on Themyscira. Diana, daughter of Queen Hippolyta, is trained in secret by General Antiope. One day, American spy Steve Trevor crash-lands off the island, bringing news of World War I. Believing Ares, the god of war, is behind the chaos, Diana leaves with Steve to stop the conflict. In London, Diana meets Steve’s allies: Sameer, Charlie, and Chief. They journey to the front, where Diana defies orders and liberates a village in a stunning show of power. Diana believes German General Ludendorff is Ares and kills him, but the war continues. Disillusioned, she begins to doubt herself—until Ares reveals himself as Sir Patrick. He tempts Diana to join him in destroying humanity, but she refuses. Ares takes on a massive, armored form and unleashes destruction. During the chaos, Steve sacrifices himself to destroy the gas plane, after telling Diana he loves her and to stay hidden after the war. Fueled by grief and love, Diana unlocks her full power and defeats Ares in a climactic battle. With the war over, she vanishes from public view. Post Credits: In the present day, Diana steps out of a limo at a high-society event. As she moves through the crowd, she bumps into a man. He smiles, offers his hand, and says, “Bruce Wayne.”
