WITCHBLADE is a grounded supernatural crime drama centered on NYPD homicide detective Sara Pezzini, a determined investigator whose life changes forever when the murder of her father leads her to an ancient supernatural artifact known as the Witchblade. Sara becomes the latest bearer of the Witchblade, gaining extraordinary abilities while discovering that the weapon is part of a much larger supernatural mythology. But Sara doesn't quit being a cop. She still has murders to solve, criminals to arrest, victims to protect, and a department that expects her to follow procedure. The difference is that some of her cases now involve things that shouldn't exist. At its heart, WITCHBLADE is Chicago P.D. with a supernatural/superhero spin. Sara is a detective first.
