After centuries of peace under King Magnifico’s rule, the island kingdom of Rosas thrives on dreams but at a cost. Every citizen’s wish is surrendered to the King, who promises to protect them but never intends to grant them. Among the dreamers is Asha, a spirited young woman who begins to question the fairness of a world where hope is controlled. One night, as her voice rises in desperation beneath the stars, the heavens answer and Star, a celestial being of pure light, descends to the earth. But in this reimagined tale, Star takes human form, curious and radiant, with the heart of a child and the soul of the cosmos. Together, Asha and Star uncover the truth about Magnifico’s magic that he draws power from the stolen wishes of others. As the King’s tyranny deepens, Asha and her friends form a secret rebellion, spreading a message of hope through the streets of Rosas. As Asha teaches Star what it means to live, love, and dream, their bond blossoms into something more a love that defies the heavens themselves. But with Star’s time on earth fading, Asha must make the hardest choice of all: save the kingdom or save the one she loves.
