Knowing that they will be kidnapped or killed by a mysterious figure following them, they seek help from their godfather, cousin, and grandfather, who all realize that they are safer not being adopted but still agree to aid them. Winter Rage premiered at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival on November 23rd, 2025, and was released in theaters on December 11th; it received generally positive reviews with praise for Armstrong and Rubio's performances, Carnahan's direction, the action sequences, and Hans Zimmer's musical score, while the film's graphic violence and portrayal of stalkers drew controversy. It grossed over $1.28 billion worldwide against a budget of $132 million and a break-even point of $260 million, making it the sixth-highest-grossing R-rated film of all time and Carnahan's highest-grossing film.
