Recasting Willy Wonka, keeping his energy close to what was originally intended. Willy Wonka is a sinister character, he seems magical and whimsical on the outside, but as the children go deeper with him into his factory, more of his character is unearthed. He prioritizes profit and business over people, willing to let children die and firing people without hesitation or care. He is a depiction of capitalistic greed and cruelty, put in a pretty package.
