Ellen "Berent" Harland is the main antagonist of the 1944 novel Leave Her to Heaven by the late Ben Ames Williams, and its 1945 film adaptation of the same name. Ellen becomes enraptured by author Richard Harland, and does everything in her power to keep him to herself.
