Andrew Jones has been on death row for 8 years awaiting his sentence for the murder of his mother. Every day he is guarded by a prison guard named Jane Mitchell who, when the other guards are not paying attention, turns off the cameras, enters the prisoner's cell and... talks to him, tries to comfort him when he cries, and above all listens to him. The man, in turn, instead of taking the chance and escaping, is happy to spend time with her. After these eight years, it is no longer friendship but love that has developed. When the other guards find out about everything, both Jane and Andrew are convinced that she will be released. However, the reaction of the guards surprises them...
