When a Stranger Calls (1986)
What if When a Stranger Calls had been made 20 years earlier
A terrified babysitter receives mysterious phone calls from an unknown man while watching two children in an isolated suburban home. As the calls grow increasingly menacing and personal, she realizes the caller knows intimate details about her life and location. Trapped inside with the sleeping children upstairs, she must outwit a predatory voice on the line while authorities struggle to trace his location. The tension escalates when she discovers the calls are coming from inside the house. What begins as a psychological thriller becomes a desperate fight for survival as the babysitter transforms from victim to protector, using her wits and courage against an unseen threat that exploits her vulnerability and isolation. The film captures the raw terror of being hunted in your own sanctuary.
