Story Plot

The DC Cinematic Universe (DCCU) is an American media franchise and shared universe centered on a series of superhero films produced by DC Studios. The films are based on characters that appear in American comic books published by DC Comics. The franchise also includes television series, short films, digital series, and literature. The shared universe, much like the original DC Universe in comic books, was established by crossing over common plot elements, settings, cast, and characters. DC Studios releases its films in groups called "Phases", with the first three phases collectively known as "The Apokolips Saga" and the following three phases as "The Infinite Earths Saga". The first DCCU film, Superman: Man of Steel (2008), began Phase One hich culminated in the 2012 crossover film Justice League. Phase Two began with Superman: Warworld (2013) and concluded with The Atom (2015), while Phase Three began with Batman: Injustice (2016) and concluded with Blue Beetle: Shifting Grounds (2019). Black Canary (2021) is the first film in Phase Four, which concluded with Aquaman: War for Atlantis (2022), while Phase Five began with The Atom and Bumblebee: Brave New World (2023) and will conclude with Suicide Squad* (2025).
