In this not altogether serious political semi-drama, follow Ohio educator Artis G. Watson from the 1960s to the 2000s in both work and family life as he attempts to claw his way to the top of American Politics. --- An ambitious yet altogether neurotic man campaigns on a platform of wanting to genuinely help the people, in an effort to first become Governor of Ohio, then President of the United States. However, his many failures and gaffe-prone combative personality take off a sizeable portion of his appeal. He will meet many allies and enemies along the way, most notably a fellow Ohioan, the charismatic upstart Bob Ashbury.read more

Description of Artis G. Watson (Art Watson):

The neurotic protagonist who seems to always be having a mid-life crisis, Watson finds himself in Kentucky where he becomes the principal of a local high school... At the height of the cold war, he is fired after being accused of having socialist sympathies by other faculty members. Later, he moves to suburban Ohio where after becoming known locally for his opinion pieces in the local newspaper, the young man is elected mayor of his town. He is nominated for governor of Ohio by the Democratic party in 1978. (although it's said that they did this in the hopes as they were actually trying to lose, due to whatever political strategy they saw in that.) His story will continue from there...
