Teenager Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir -- a human/vampire hybrid. Her best friend is Lissa Dragomir, a princess of the Moroi -- mortal, peaceful vampires. Both teens attend St. Vladamir's Academy, a secret haven for those like them.
