The film tells the story of the battle between the ancient kingdoms of Troy and Sparta. During a visit to the king of Sparta, Menelaus, the Trojan prince Paris falls in love with the king's wife, Helena, and takes her back to Troia. Menelaus' brother, King Agamemnon, who had already defeated all armies in Greece, finds the missing pretext to declare war on Troy, the only kingdom that prevents him from controlling the Aegean Sea. read more

Description of Helena (Helena of Troy):

She had the reputation of being the most beautiful woman in the world. Helena had several suitors, who included many of Greece's greatest heroes, and her adopted father, Tindar, hesitated to make a decision in favor of one of them for fear of enraging the others. Finally one of the suitors, Odysseus (whose Latin name was Ulysses), king of Ithaca, resolved the impasse by proposing that all suitors swear to protect Helena and the husband she chose, whatever it was. Helena then married Menelaus, who became king of Sparta.
