Transformers: Dark of the Moon is a 2011 American science fiction action film based on Hasbro's Transformers toy line. The film is the third installment in the Transformers film series and the sequel to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009). The film is directed by Michael Bay and written by Ehren Kruger. It stars Shia LaBeouf, Oded Fehr, John Hannah, Shaun Parkes, Dakota Johnson, Luke Ford, Alun Armstrong, Kevin Dunn, Julie White, John Malkovich, and Frances McDormand, with the Voice cast of Peter Cullen, Chris Evans, Erick Avari, Jess Harnell, Grey Griffin, Rachel Weisz and most of the returning Voice cast, along with Judd Nelson, Neil Ross and John Moschitta Jr. Reprise their Roles as Hot Rod, Springer and Blurr. Set three years after Revenge of the Fallen, it shows the final days of the war between Autobots and Decepticons as they battle for a power source that could bring their species to extinction.
