Decades after escaping the fall of Cybertron, the Autobots have secretly protected Earth while searching for the lost AllSpark. Years earlier, Archibald Witwicky discovered the crash-landed Bumblebee, unknowingly passing down clues to its location through the Witwicky family. Those clues eventually lead his grandson, Sam Witwicky, into the center of an ancient war. Alongside Mikaela Banes, Sam becomes humanity's greatest hope as the Decepticons launch an invasion to recover the AllSpark. Led by Optimus Prime, the Autobots—Bumblebee, Jazz, Sideswipe, Hound, Ironhide, Ratchet, Cliffjumper, Mirage, Wheeljack, Hot Rod, Elita One, Arcee, and Chromia—battle Megatron's forces, including Starscream, Barricade, Blitzwing, Shatter, Dropkick, Blackout, Scourge, Bonecrusher, Jetfire, and Drift. Witnessing Megatron's brutality and the needless destruction of Earth, Jetfire and Drift abandon the Decepticons and join Optimus, tipping the balance of the war and proving that not every Cybertronian is bound by faction alone. The conflict comes at a devastating cost. Cliffjumper falls during an early Decepticon assault, while Jazz sacrifices himself confronting Megatron in the final battle. One by one, the Autobots eliminate Bonecrusher, Blitzwing, Shatter, Dropkick, Blackout, and Scourge, weakening Megatron's forces as Earth becomes the latest battlefield in Cybertron's endless war. In a final act of courage, Sam drives the AllSpark into Megatron's spark chamber, destroying both the artifact and the Decepticon leader. With Megatron defeated, the surviving Decepticons scatter across the galaxy while the Autobots choose to remain on Earth as its guardians, honoring those they lost and preparing for the battles still to come. Post-Credit Scene: Deep within a hidden Decepticon facility, Shockwave and Soundwave recover Megatron's lifeless body. As they begin a secret reconstruction, Shockwave declares that Megatron's reign is not over, foreshadowing the birth of Galvatron.
