The movie follows the story of Nina Hwang (Chicha Amatayakul), a reserved and introverted woman who has put her dreams aside to take care of her family's restaurant in New York. She deals with a dark past of losing her father to suicide and dealing with the emotional abuse from her grandmother, who insults her, her mother and her younger adoptive sister.
