Part of the Future History Series
Book starts off with Lazarus Long, the oldest human in existence (being over 2400 years old), trying to die of old age, but one of his numerous relatives Ira who is in charge of the Howard families (long lifers) forcibly rejuvenates him some. He wants Lazarus's wisdom and knowledge. Lazarus wanting to die as he is so bored with life makes a reverse Scheherazade bet with Ira, if Ira can find something he has never done before he will tell him stories and give him tidbits about his life and not self terminate. I feel like this would make a great HBO series not just covering Time Enough for Love but all the books in the future history series, kinda like a Greatest Stories Ever Told or Ray Bradbury theater show.
