  • evanzaremba I loved the idea of Robin Williams as The Riddler, but it was an idea from Joel Schumacher and the Batchlers, because Joel called Robin, and he said to him "Play The Riddler" and Robin said to Joel, "I love to, Joel." Lee and Janet Scott Batchler did a wonderful job capturing his voice, because Robin Williams was a stand-up guy. And Robin talked to Akiva Goldsman about The Riddler in his kitchen. The Batchlers knew somebody who had worked with Robin and knew Robin that somebody talked to him about it. He read the script, loved it, and wanted to do Batman Forever. Due to a salary dispute, the role went to Jim Carrey. It also said that WB used Robin to tricked Jack Nicholson into signing on as The Joker in Batman 89.
