After the sudden death of her best friend Leslie Shay while on call, firefighter Aubrey Byrd decides to transfer to a different firehouse and leave Chicago and Firehouse 51 behind. After getting Boden to put in a good word for her, she is sent to one of the best stations in Seattle: Station 19. And while there is initial frosty reception in the Emerald City, with 51 backing her all the way: Byrd makes it her goal to prove that she belongs with the best of the best.
