Sisters, Stella and Ellie Steckler are basically complete opposites. The only thing they have in common is cross country running - until Mila Keene comes to town. Mila was top of her team and Stella and Ellie first see her as a threat, but suddenly the two girls find themselves becoming close friends with her. Stella becomes something she vowed she never would become: distracted. Ellie finds herself drawn to Mila's warmth and eventually ends up telling her her darkest secret. With regionals approaching and college right around the corner, the sisters say nothing will get in the way of their futures. But everything changes when one day Mila goes out for a run and doesn't return. No one knows what happened and now, all eyes are on the Steckler sisters.
