James came to be called by Logan or Wolverine, and participated in several wars, such as World War II, alongside Captain America, Nick Fury and Bucky Barnes. During the 1950s, Logan agreed to be the subject of a Canadian government experiment, where his bones were covered with Adamantium metal, making him immune to everything, practically immortal. But the experiment manifested Logan's violent side, living like an animal in Canada's Carcross desert, until he was recruited by Charles Xavier to join the X-Men.
