North's mutating power is the ability to absorb the kinetic energy generated by an impact without harming itself. While there are limits to this power, North is able to survive drops from tremendous heights, energy blasts and get hit by strong superhuman enemies without being harmed, he is something of Stryker's scapegoat always watching others from the shadows.
