Story Plot
The Wiz is a reimagining of The Wizard of Oz, set in an urban, African American cultural context. Dorothy, a schoolteacher in an inner-city neighborhood, is swept away to Oz, where she befriends the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion, seeking the Wiz’s help to return home.
