  • dreamcatcher People forget that the Hexer had a really small budget - but there is something infinitely more authentic and soulful in the Hexer series that the Netflix show lacks. The majority of the casting is great, especially Geralt, Yen and Ciri, and is more faithful to the books and has the spirit of the Witcher.

    • titanusmosura @dreamcatcher Netflix didn't even bother to find young actress to portray Ciri which resulted in loss of one of the most emotional plot lines of the whole saga.

  • titanusmosura The Polish version for the win. The actors are casted much more accurate than the Netflix's ones, especially the main cast. Keep in mind that creators of Polish series had no rights on the adaptaion of book series.

  • boutros Ok so I don’t really know the fandom like that — definitely never watched Hexer w/ how new I am — but ima go w/ Hexer I really love Anya and Freya they doing amazing acting jobs but outside of them two and overall the older cast looks better

  • jakubduda The polish version is better. the actors in those roles look much more believable. You can see how netflix changed it, netflix cast actors of different ages and of course different races. which could also have an effect on the plot, but I haven't seen the Polish version, so I can't judge. I definitely like the Polish version better.

  • theonewithda_gun Both Netflix and original Polish version of Geralt are good. For Ciri, i think the Netflix version made a decent casting for the character. I prefer Polish Yennefer more, no hate to the Netflix version, i just think the Netflix Yennefer's casting was a bit off.

  • user_76324 I used to like the Netflix version, but I just finished the book series and the games. I prefer the Polish series by far. What's more, I used to like the Netflix version but since they killed Heskel and Roach for no reason and taking away the protagonism from Geralt I hate it. Henry Cavill, Freya Alan, Joey Batey and maybe Anya Chalotra are fine, but the rest definitivetely not. They could make a series accurate to the book with those 4, but change all the rest, because the Netflix show is wrong .

    • dreamcatcher @darthcaedus I know exactly what you mean - I think those who love the show are new to the Witcher world because once you start reading the books and playing the games, you realise how the show is 90% fanfiction and Geralt is no longer the main character :(
