Kai, a curious and adventurous young Native American girl, lives in a close-knit village that holds deep respect for nature and the spirits they believe reside in the land. Her village’s most important tradition is the Feather Ceremony, an ancient rite performed every generation where the chosen “Wind Keeper” carries an enchanted feather to the top of a sacred mountain. This ritual keeps the harmony between the physical and spirit worlds and ensures the village’s prosperity. But on the night before the ceremony, a violent storm erupts, and the enchanted feather is swept away by powerful winds. With her village’s harmony at stake, Kai takes it upon herself to retrieve the feather, venturing beyond her village for the first time. She’s joined by Tokala, a mischievous young fox spirit with a knack for getting into trouble, and Sahale, a wise yet grumpy old raven who once served as a guide in past ceremonies but has long since retired. Together, they embark on a magical journey through ancient forests, towering mountains, and hidden valleys, encountering various spirit animals, talking rivers, and enchanted landscapes. Along the way, Kai learns to communicate with the spirits, gaining wisdom from each encounter while also realizing her own courage and connection to her ancestors.
