Synopsis

"Days Gone Bye" begins the story of Rick Grimes, a sheriff's deputy from Kentucky, who is wounded in action and emerges from a coma to find the world plagued by the undead. Upon returning home, he finds his house ransacked and his wife and son gone. Rick travels to a military evacuation zone in Atlanta to find his family and joins a small group of survivors along the way, all the while trying to adapt to life in this new world.

  • tylerhamilton Not much is known about Carl's life prior to or as the outbreak began, except that he was born in April to Lori and Rick Grimes and presumably attended elementary school. Shortly before the plague hit, Carl's father, who was a police officer, was shot in the line of duty and fell into a coma.

  • tylerhamilton Carl's father, RICK, was still in a coma when the zombie plague hit, so Rick's best friend and fellow officer, SHANE took him and his mother, LORI, to Atlanta seeking safety, as that was what Rick would've wanted. The city was already overrun by the time they arrived, but luckily they managed to find a camp of survivors in it's outskirts. While he is the oldest kid there, he finds a very friendly connection with a girl named SOPHIA, who has a crush on him.

  • tylerhamilton Several weeks later, the camp's designated supply-runner Glenn rescues a man in the city, who turns out to be none other than his father Rick himself, who woke up from the coma and traveled to Atlanta to find them. He is beyond relieved to see his father alive again. Thanks to him, he learns out to use a gun along with the rest of the group (much to Lori's chagrin), and even manages to kill his first zombie during the night of the camp attack that resulted in the deaths of Amy & Jim. Later is when he ends up in his ultimate test of morality, as he witnesses Shane trying to kill his father, resulting in young Carl shooting him in the neck, saving Rick's life.
