Following her run in with Spider-Man, Jean Grey is on the run; there are many parties interested in locating her. Chief of her pursuers is a young man with the ability to shoot beams of pure kinetic energy from his visors, who works on behalf of one Charles Xavier. This young mutant, along with a few friends must find Jean before she does more harm to the public, further painting their kind in a very unflattering light. Meanwhile, sinister forces work in the shadows and soon, Jean and Scott must work together in order to survive and protect the fragile future of mutantkind.
