After watching his parents be killed by a spirit of darkness sent by the master of darkness knowing that Cole is the chosen one of his universe, Cole and his friend Conner Martino are caught up in the spirit's portal back and they land and get stuck in a new universe where they stay for about 10 years training to get out of this place and when they finally do the spirit kills Conner. Cole would go on to find out how to harness energy from the multiverse being the chosen one of his universe and all and eventually gain a staff that can open portals and close them.
