But when Cardinal Richelie's guard interrupts them at the scene of their duel and there's a fight, he takes their side fearlessly, and thus gains friends for life. The Three Musketeers is an adventure story full of intrigue and tension, but also about the power of friendship and love. It is the most famous work of the French writer Alexander Dumas.
