Synopsis

Sixteen-year-old Malencia (Cia) Vale is an aspiring student from Five Lakes Colony in future dystopian America. In a mission to revitalize the earth after years of civil and chemical warfare, the United Commonwealth has devised an intense series of tests to pick out the most talented to guide their country back to its former glory. Cia is excited to be chosen along with three other classmates, including the kind and charming Tomas Endress. But when her father, a former Testing candidate himself, reveals the horrifying dreams that have followed his mandatory memory wipe, Cia finds herself caught in a whirlwind of heartbreak, treachery, and people who will do whatever it takes to stay on top.
