The Terrifics (2032)

The origin of the Terrifics begins when the corrupt corporate billionaire Simon Stagg recklessly opens a portal to the Dark Multiverse using a specialized dimensional gateway. The hyper-intelligent polymath Mister Terrific (Michael Holt), the elastic shapeshifter Plastic Man (Eel O'Brian), and the elemental mutant Metamorpho (Rex Mason) are inadvertently pulled into this chaotic realm while trying to contain the breach. Amidst the dark void, they rescue Phantom Girl (Linnya Wazzo), an alien teenager from the planet Bgztl who had been stranded there since childhood. As the four heroes attempt a frantic escape back to Earth-0, they are heavily blasted by dark multiversal energy. This exposure creates a permanent, agonizing cosmic tether between them; if they move more than roughly a mile apart from one another, the physical strain begins to violently tear their bodies apart, forcing these radically different personalities into a reluctant partnership. This tight proximity immediately tests them when they encounter their very first antagonist, a massive, ancient cybernetic entity trapped within the Dark Multiverse known as the Dark Multiverse God-Monster, alongside the cybernetic remnants of a forgotten astronaut named Linus. Shortly thereafter, they face their primary arch-nemesis, Doctor Dread; a sinister, masked mastermind who is later revealed to be an embittered, multi-dimensional counterpart of Michael Holt himself. Driven by a vengeful obsession with Mister Terrific, Doctor Dread orchestrates numerous sabotages, manipulating dark energy and assembling his own villainous mirror team, "The Dreadfuls," specifically designed to exploit the newly formed team's volatile dynamic and physical tether. This foundational conflict forces the bickering heroes to look past their differences, learn to coordinate their vastly unique abilities, and operate as a functional unit just to survive the mental and physical gauntlet of their forced proximity.
