Gavilar Kholin was the King of Alethkar until his assassination by Szeth, acting on the orders of the Parshendi. He was the older brother of Dalinar Kholin, husband of Navani Kholin, and father of Elhokar Kholin and Jasnah Kholin. Gavilar was a tall, tan-skinned Alethi man with black hair, a neatly groomed beard streaked with white, pale green eyes, and distinctive scars from past injuries. He carried himself with regal confidence, often wearing modern royal attire instead of his bright blue Shardplate. Driven and ambitious, he was determined to elevate House Kholin's legacy beyond that of the legendary Sunmaker.
