Leia Organa, now general of the Alliance, leads a desperate charge toward Coruscant, where the Empire has retreated with the second Death Star under construction. The rebellion is running out of time—and hope. Luke, now a fully realized Jedi, returns from exile with new clarity. He refuses to kill Vader, believing his father can be redeemed.
