(In the 40s) When corrupt GCPD detective Jim Corrigan is killed by his boss Vincent Falcone he is taken before his soul could arrive in hell, he was chosen by God to be his avatar in the mortal realm as The Spectre. (Present day) Although he is immortal, the new God, Amenadiel (from Lucifer) still chose a replacement because he felt that Corrigan had served his time and could pass on to heaven, but not before mentoring a replacement, instead of choosing someone who needs to make up for their sins like Corrigan, Amenadiel chooses Crispus Allen to be the new Spectre, Allen was killed by his corrupt partner Jordan Reynolds, and wants to continue living and live his life with his family which Amenadiel will give him if he becomes The Spectre
