Old Hollywood's Most Scandalous Secret
Reclusive Hollywood icon Evelyn Hugo, now in her eighties, emerges from decades of self-imposed isolation to tell her life story to an unknown magazine reporter. Over the course of their interviews, Evelyn reveals the truth behind her seven marriages, her meteoric rise to stardom in Golden Age Hollywood, and the dark secrets she's kept hidden for decades. As her narrative unfolds, the reporter discovers that Evelyn's carefully constructed public image masks a complex woman who loved fiercely, made impossible choices, and sacrificed her own happiness for survival in a ruthless industry. The novel weaves together glamorous Hollywood mythology with intimate character study, exploring themes of identity, ambition, love, and the price of fame. Evelyn's story challenges everything the reporter thought she knew, ultimately revealing a profound connection between them that reframes the entire narrative and forces both women to confront what it means to live authentically.
