  • Plot: A gigantic serpent is lurking in the oceans of the North Atlantic; a young biologist and diver named Lucía Herrera joins a fishermen crew on their ship, led by ex-navy scout swimmer Sienna Harris and second-in-command Carlos González.
  • Lucía immediately bonds with the crew, especially Sienna. They spot the serpent and try to kill it, but it overpowers them and damages the ship's fuel line. Lucía helps Sienna temporarily repair the damage, with Sienna acknowledging that it will be enough to get them to the docks for permanent repairs. Lucía suddenly feels something for Sienna, which confuses her. She decides to keep it a secret until she is ready; the serpent suddenly attacks them and damages the ship's control deck. However, Carlos repairs the control panel, enabling Sienna to drive the ship to the docks.
  • As the docking station crew begins repairs on the ship, a reluctant Sienna takes Lucía to see her sadistic, racist father Pete. He hesitantly provides them the location of the serpent's hideout. By the time they arrive with their repaired ship however, the serpent is not there.
  • When they enter the hideout, Lucía tells Sienna that she may be "harboring feelings..... For a girl." When Sienna asks who, Lucía tells her that it is someone like her; Sienna reveals that she is attracted to girls, and that she has also developed feelings for someone—Lucía herself. They share a kiss, and when they return to the ship, Sienna assures Lucía that she does not have to be like her to be attracted to girls.
  • The ship's quartermaster Adéwale sacrifices himself when the serpent attacks the ship again, while the whaler Reuben Michaels and Sienna's cousin Joel are also killed. Lucía comforts a grieving Sienna, and gives her a reassuring kiss on her forehead. Meanwhile, Pete's brother Will confronts the latter after realizing that he rejected his daughter for who she is; they both fight, and when Lucía and Sienna arrive, they witness this. Sienna breaks the fight, only to be severely hit in the face and to find that her own father is about to kill Lucía, but she disarms him and points his own gun at him. He mocks her by saying "Well go ahead and do it you f--kin' lesbo!" before he threatens to assault Lucía, causing Sienna to shoot him twice, killing him.
  • The serpent attacks the docks, leaving much destruction in its wake, while Sienna's advisor, Vincent Reynolds, sacrifices himself to save his sister, Willow. Lucía seeks advice from her mother, Sofia, who tells her and Sienna to battle the serpent underwater, as it is the only way to weaken it. Lucía and Sienna steal a submarine and dive down; they soon find the serpent and battle it, but it overpowers them and severely damages the submarine. However, they fire missiles at the serpent, weakening it enough for Lucía to exit the submarine and follow the serpent to solid ground. She manages to overpower and stab it with a broken harpoon, killing the beast.
  • In the aftermath, Lucía and Sienna reunite at the docks and embrace each other. Sofia accepts her daughter for her true self, as Will does his niece. Lucía and Sienna chart a new destination on their ship in search for new adventures as the end credits roll.
