Description of Jason Todd (The Red Hood):

From the beginning, the life of Jason Todd was one of misery and pain. His father Willis was a criminal on the streets of Gotham, and was only trying to protect his family, when he was arrested, with Jason's mother Anya later dying from a broken heart. Then, when he became the second Robin under the watchful eye of Bruce Wayne (the Batman), he grew more and more discontent with Batman's no killing policy. And finally, after attempting to kill the Joker upon learning of the burning of an orphanage by his hands, Jason was beaten and tortured for two years, until he finally broke and, once escaping the dungeons of Arkham Asylum, became the man he is now.
