Gary, a clumsy and unlucky zookeeper, finds himself on a wild adventure when Tilly, the toddler daughter of the zoologist he has a crush on, accidentally gets shipped from New York to Africa. To make matters more interesting, Leon, the zoo's lazy lion, and his unlikely group of friends embark on a quest to bring Tilly and themselves back home.
