Haunted by the dark influence of the symbiote suit and believing he's responsible for the death of the Green Goblin, Peter Parker decides to hang up his web-shooters and quit being Spider-Man, after being reminded of his sins by Vulture. However, a new threat emerges in the form of Venom, a malevolent force with a personal vendetta against Peter. With his loved ones in danger, Peter must confront his inner demons, rediscover his sense of responsibility, and don the Spider-Man mantle once more to protect those he holds dear.
