Years after their magical childhood journey on the Polar Express, Chris, Sarah, Billy, and Edgar have grown up and lost touch with the spirit of Christmas. On Christmas Eve, they each receive a mysterious invitation and are reunited on the Polar Express. The train, now filled with new, younger passengers, takes them on a fantastical adventure back to the North Pole. Along the way, they face challenges that mirror their adult struggles, reigniting their belief in the magic of Christmas. Upon arriving at the North Pole, they discover that Santa's magic is waning due to a lack of belief. Together, they complete a series of tasks to restore the Christmas spirit, ultimately reigniting the Northern Lights and bringing joy back to the North Pole. Santa rewards them with a magical snow globe, reminding them that the spirit of Christmas never truly fades. The adults return to their lives, forever changed, and carry the magic of Christmas forward, enriching their own lives and the lives of those around them.
