The DC Universe (DCU) is an upcoming American media franchise and shared universe centered on a series of superhero films and television shows produced by DC Studios. The films and shows will be based on characters that appear in American comic books published by DC Comics. The shared universe, much like the original DC Universe in comic books, will be established by crossing over common plot elements, settings, cast, and characters.
