On June 22nd 1992, John Gilbert and his then girlfriend, Isobel Flemming had a daughter who was then adopted by John's brother Grayson and his wife, Miranda. They named her Lutessa 'Tessa' Gilbert and she would later be identified as the latest Petrova Doppelgänger. They are unaware that more than a decade ago on July 31st 1980, thousands of miles and an ocean away, another Doppelgänger was born, to James and Lily Potter, who named their daughter Elena Potter. 15 months later, on Halloween 1981, James (a Petrova descendant via his mother) and Lily (who has an Untriggered Werewolf gene) are killed by the Dark Wizard known as Voldemort, and Elena is declared the *Girl-Who-Lived*, a title she'd soon come to hate. After eventually killing Voldemort and triggering her Curse, Elena leaves Magical Britain and it's two-faced populace. While *celebrating* her 18th birthday in Las Vegas, she meets a certain Original Hybrid, and one thing leads to another. In 2010, after breaking his curse by Sacrificing Tessa Gilbert, Klaus Mikaelson seeks help from a certain witch to learn why he can't make Hybrids.
