After the events of The Mask (1994), Stanley Ipkiss (Jim Carrey) is now promoted as assistant chief manager at the Edge City savings and loans bank and still claims the magical Mask which turns him into the green headed, big toothed superhero if worn. Meanwhile, villainous crime boss Don Mozzo (Mahershala Ali) plans to seek the Mask for himself while Walter (Mark Ruffalo), a mute and enormous gangster and ex-employee to Don Mozzo plans to do the same to exact his revenge. Stanley Ipkiss is the main hero of The Mask Returns. Stanley is featured as an average everyday bank clerk at the Edge City savings and loans bank. Until he was finally promoted as chief assistant manager after his old boss got fired from stealing loans under the board of directors' noses. Stanley also has possession of the magical mask that if worn turns him into the energetic superhero with the big green head and big teeth --The Mask. But his heroism gets tested after meeting his new found love, a reporter named Kathy.
