While still continuing the MCU trilogy, Sony decided to reboot the Spider-Man franchise with the subtitle "The Marvelous". After many director changes and difficulties casting the Web-Slinger, they finally hit the mark with famed Blade Runner 2049, Dune director Denis Villeneuve, and newcomer Griffin Gluck. The film received generally positive reviews from critics, who complimented its visual effects, story, with Villeneuve's direction. However, it received criticism focusing on its runtime and for being little bit dark.
