Prequel set 13 years before the events of The Maze Runner, just after the devastating sun flares first hit. It follows the adventures of Mark, Trina, Alec and Lana along with their friends who are trying to find safety from a terrible virus that has been unleashed. On their travels they encounter a little girl who is seemingly unaffected by the virus. Could she be the answer to their problems?
