Rick Jones found an exhausted Bruce Banner on his doorstep and brought him in without a second thought. On their trip to New Mexico, Rick makes points on why Hulk is a hero and not a monster. When he gets shot by a bullet at the gamma lab, Bruce took him to the nearest hospital with Thunderbolt and Betty's help. The only way to save him was to give some blood. And Bruce only matched Rick's blood type. Bruce knew the risks, but he can't risk losing his best friend. But Bruce's blood had gamma radiation, which the doctors didn't know. And that may not only heal Rick quickly, but also give him something more: turning into Hulk's partner A-Bomb.
