Quasimodo, a disfigured bell-ringer, was left abandoned at the steps of the Notre Dame cathedral as a baby, and was ridiculed his entire life for his ugly appearance. Raised by the cruel, benevolent Claude Frollo, Quasimodo is given a chance of salvation when he meets the beautiful and mysterious gypsy, Esmerelda. However, when Frollo discovers the pairs blooming relationship, tragedy strikes in the ugliest way possible.
