  • :Plot: Police captain Marcus Black is sent on a mission in the forest by Commissioner Walker, with Sheriff Michael Larson and Howard Manning. Black soon discovers that Walker has tricked him and actually sent him to be mauled by a bear, and she orders Larson and Manning to leave him behind. Black survives and kills the bear, and tames a disgraced alpha Black Wolf and names him Salazar, deciding to become a frontiersman in the process.
  • Black encounters his girlfriend, Dakota, and tells her to inform the authorities that he is alive, but instructs her not to tell them that she will help him. Dakota agrees, and informs Walker, who reluctantly believes her. Walker sends Manning to investigate, in which Black appears and strangles him to death, and talks to Walker via Manning's com-link, warning her that Salazar will maul all of her men if she does not give up. When she refuses, Black calls her "spoiled rich, and ruthless".
  • Meanwhile, Dakota's older half-brother, Gabriel O'Hara, who is also the deputy sheriff, discovers Manning's body, and concludes that Black has indeed killed him. When O'Hara asks why, Black answers "He left me to be mauled by a bear, and he was corrupt". O'Hara believes him, but is distrustful of him and tells Dakota, but she secretly already knows as she supports Black's efforts and intentions.
  • The next day, Black collects water in a bucket, for himself and Salazar, then gears up to hunt a deer. He tracks the deer and claims it, but notices cops trying to hunt him down. He howls for Salazar, and they both kill the corrupt cops. Walker dubs him as Mister Wolf, "The Howling Death", and declares him as a wanted man, much to officer Mark Quinn's dismay.
  • Chief Larry Kress leads a charge against Black, but he overpowers them. However, he spares them all, preferring to kill only the corrupt, and because Kress is his friend. An enraged and humiliated Walker dismisses Kress for five days as a result of letting Black go, and goes after him head-on. Salazar attacks Walker, but she shoots and nearly kills him, forcing Black to slice her leg open. Black takes Salazar to Dakota, who, due to being a veterinarian, nurses the wolf back to health. O'Hara arrives and reconciles with Black after Dakota reveals that she supports Black. Walker orders Larson and four other cops to hunt down Black; anticipating this, Black kills the four cops, leaving Larson for last. A final fight ensues, with Black concluding it by mortally wounding Larson by shooting him in the right side of his chest. Larson, refusing to give up despite his fatal wound, grabs a branch and tries to shank Black, but Black eviscerates Larson, killing him..
  • In the aftermath, as the sun rises, Black instructs Dakota and O'Hara to find out how to intimidate Walker into revealing how she betrayed Black, and Salazar, now fully healed, travels with Black further into the wilderness as the end credits roll.
